A drugstore staple with broad nutrient coverage, under 1 g of sugar, and the lowest price per dose in this set — but the on-market label still lists Red 40, Yellow 6, and Blue 2 lakes, aspartame, BHT, gelatin, and artificial flavors, an additive stack most 2026-era kids’ vitamins have moved away from.
Why this score
Synthetic dyes: Red 40, Yellow 6, Blue 2 lakes
✕Avoid
The current on-market label lists Blue 2 Lake, Red 40 Lake, and Yellow 6 Lake. These petroleum-derived dyes remain legal, but in April 2025 the FDA and HHS announced a plan to phase all six remaining synthetic food dyes out of the US supply by the end of 2026, citing concerns raised by doctors and parents about children’s health. Most competing kids’ vitamins now use fruit- and vegetable-based colors instead.
